Consulting SERVICES
In the past, environmental concerns were normally ignored in construction activities, real
estate, housing, etc. The word environmental was a new concept and was not understood.
Then came environmental regulations and all industries were now in need of environmental
consulting. Regulations and lack of compliance quickly affected companies bottom line.
Organizations lacking a staff of environmental experts needed the services of a professional
consulting firm to prevent expensive construction and/or legal environmental ramifications.
Sun City Analytical, Inc., was founded by Mr. Luis Acuña in 1987. Mr. Acuña was at the
start of the environmental regulations. As a young engineer, he was tasked with reviewing
Federal, State, and Local laws to ensure Fort Bliss was identifying potential problems and risks.
Since then SCAI has been built on the knowledge and experience of Mr. Acuña. SCAI strides to
provide services that are accurate and in accordance to current regulations; but yet reasonably priced to
meet the client's personal needs. Furthermore, SCAI's initial beginnings in the asbestos and
industrial hygiene disciplines have evolved into an environmental consulting business that is
personal and prompt.
SCAI prides itself on our motto.
“Simple Solutions for a Better Indoor
Environment”

Asbestos Surveys and O&M Management Plans using AHERA
SCAI uses AHERA protocols to identify and locate all asbestos in a building.
SCAI's consulting services for asbestos abatement involve:
• Asbestos protection of personnel
• Phasing the removal of asbestos as per client's requirements
• Prepare specifications, plans, and accurate cost estimates for abatement
• Project management and air monitoring to protect the owner's interest
• Provides detailed clearance air monitoring
• Provides management and administrative environmental technical
support
At the inception of environmental regulatory laws, there was no mention of the contamination
from mold. However, SCAI had begun research and sampling for mold since it
was also a contaminant that could potentially cause problems to certain individuals. Since no government
regulations nor industry standards existed, the emerging mold remediation field was
extremely difficult and legally treacherous. However, SCAI’s extensive R&D and resolution
experience with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) problems associated with bio-aerosols (spores) and
molds has fostered the philosophy that “Simple Solutions for a Better Indoor Environment”
could avoid expensive medical, legal, political, and related construction costs.
