asbestos
  • Sun City Analytical, Inc. operates the only asbestos laboratory in El Paso accredited with the esteemed NVLAP 101870-0 certification (The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program, part of The National Institute of Standards and Technology). Out of approximately 230 accredited laboratories across the United States, ours is the sole facility between Dallas and Phoenix holding this accreditation. To achieve NVLAP accreditation, auditors conduct thorough on-site evaluations and administer comprehensive examinations to laboratory personnel to ensure proficiency.

  • To maintain this standard, our laboratory participates in the semiannual proficiency testing program, receiving four pre-loaded bulk samples from NVLAP 101870-0 for analysis. Results are submitted for evaluation and re-accreditation, ensuring continued compliance with NVLAP's rigorous requirements. In addition to NVLAP accreditation, Sun City Analytical, Inc. Laboratory holds asbestos laboratory licenses issued by the State of Texas and other regulatory agencies.

  • All laboratory personnel undergo extensive training to attain certification for asbestos sample analysis, which requires attendance at either The McCrone Research Institute in Chicago, IL or MICA in San Francisco, CA. The Sun City Analytical, Inc. Laboratory utilizes the NIOSH 7400 Series A method for asbestos detection under polarized light microscopy (PLM).
